Wyreside Lakes comprises an 8 lake complex with
a mixture of carp, pike and coarse fishing - offering a variety
of species and size which will provide a challenge to both the professional
and novice angler alike. The fishery is renowned for the quality
of carp it has produced over the years and was bestowed the ‘Cooper
Heyman’ cup award for excellence in restoration and conservation.
Day tickets, over-night tickets and season tickets
are available for guests wanting to fish. Wyreside Lakes also has
a bar / restaurant on site, so visitors don't even have to pack
any food supplies! There are also toilet and shower facilities for
longer periods of stay.
Anyone looking to stay at the lakes for a holiday
can choose from a comfortable farmhouse B&B or a picturesque
caravan and campsite, where guests can take in the calm and tranquil
surroundings of the River Wyre, Bowland Fells, woodlands and many
nature trails. With 300 acres of farmland and riverside walks, Wyreside
Lakes is far from the stresses and strains of modern life.
There is a wide choice of activities on offer,
including fishing, dining out, bird watching or rambling along the
many local footpaths and nature trails. Guests can also visit historic
towns and villages just a short distance away.
Sunnyside
Bed and Breakfast is a 150 year old farmhouse typical of the Bowland
area. Nestling in 300 acres of lakes and woodland, it is the perfect
setting for a short break that includes walking or bird watching
or, of course, a fishing trip! The Farmhouse features a spacious,
mature and beautifully landscaped garden which guests are very welcome
to explore.
As an excellent start to the day a traditional
English breakfast is freshly cooked and served in the cosy atmosphere
of the farmhouse kitchen where guests can chat with one another
about their holiday or fishing tactics!
For
those who prefer outdoor living, Wyreside also provides a 3 star
rated campsite with a full range of facilities for overnight stays
including hard standing pitches, a shower block and toilets including
disabled access. For the children there is a safe play area, lots
of wildlife and a wood to investigate.
Finally, The Fisherman’s Rest is at the heart
of Wyreside Lakes Fishery. Fishermen and visitors alike can talk,
drink and eat good food – meeting people as strangers and
leaving as friends! The restaurant caters for all tastes, from a
hearty English breakfast onto lunch, sandwiches and bar snacks.
At weekend evenings, an "a la carte" menu is available.
